I'm going to be teaching my younger brother how to draw anime(he likes that kind of art). He wants his art to closely resemble Mishimoto-sensei(Naruto fame), so I'll be teaching him the same way I learned how to draw anime, without tracing. Ironically enough, I started drawing anime style at his age(he's 11), I started with the manga, Pokemon(the hardcore stuff, not the anime). Now I know what personal stuff I need to work on in my own art but what else should teach him so he won't make the same mistakes we've all made starting out(like trying those How to Draw books, they suck!)?

And you should try looking at his twin brother's work, 666 Satan, at Mangashare.com or Onemanga.com. It's NOT satanic, it's just a shounen as many.
I also draw his creations but also my own art. It has improved by my looking at his characters.
My suggestion for him would be that manga. Though my all-time fave is Battle Angel Alita... which I cannot draw to save my sorry backcheeks.
